Both pods sleep four, so a family of four fits in either one without anyone drawing the short straw. Here's the practical version of what that means.
The sleeping arrangement
Each pod is fully furnished with a proper double bed and a double pull-out sofa bed, and each has its own en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. Bedding, towels, robes and slippers are all included, which cuts a genuine amount out of the boot of the car. There's a flat-screen TV in the corner for the end of a long day and a proper dining table so everyone can eat sitting down.
The kitchen
All crockery and utensils are supplied. Both pods have an air fryer, kettle and toaster; the Thistle Pod adds a two-ring cooker top and the Rose Pod an electric frying pan. It's enough to cook properly for four rather than living on cereal for three days.
The bit children actually remember
Ballagan Farm still runs sheep and cattle in the fields around the pods, so it's genuinely normal to wake up and find them grazing just beyond the fence. Add the farm walks that start at the door and you've filled a morning without going anywhere. If you've booked the BBQ hut with the Rose Pod, marshmallows and toasting sticks are provided, which handles the evening too.
When it rains
Loch Lomond Shores is six minutes away and covers pedal boats, canoe hire, crazy golf, SEA LIFE and the Bird of Prey Centre. Balloch Marina, five minutes out, runs boat trips onto the loch and its thirty-odd islands. RSPB Loch Lomond, about seven minutes, has trails, herons and swans, free parking and somewhere to sit.
One more thing worth knowing: both pods are dog friendly at no extra charge, up to two dogs, so the family dog doesn't have to sit this one out either. Check dates for live availability, or ask us if you want to talk through which pod suits your four.
